I´m still not sure becouse no public domain shop is showing these titles in their online catalog... which is kinda strange

As a huge fan of Classic TV, I can tell you that if something doesn't star somebody famous or isn't campy, They probably wont release it on DVD. Example:
71 episodes of "The Morey Amsterdam Show" exist at the UCLA, all are Public Domain by all accounts, But despite an all star cast, It's never been released on DVD. You listed Silent Films, Also considered "Uncommercial" by the budget DVD companies.
